Patients are able to obtain personalized medical recommendations from the First Opinion™ portal that contains a comprehensive, consolidated set of medical data that also connects to the medical experience of many other patients and doctors (Medical Data Ocean™), providing the most informed medical opinion for the patient and the healthcare provider. We call our platform First Opinion™ because this is our goal and promise to the patient, to provide the most informed medical advice the first time, rather than to return with an unresolved problem to another provider for a second opinion. The First Opinion™ portal provides universal access and universal solutions that result in precision or personalized therapy. The opportunity cost of misdiagnosis is high for a patient and will be minimized by using our platform.
Securely uploading your data
Patients are able to grow their database in the First Opinion™ portal by using a secure data transfer function on our webpage. The patient can securely connect to their own existing electronic repositories of healthcare data, such as hospitals on our website under “My Data Sources” to securely copy this information to their portal which includes any notes from the doctor. In addition to electronic data uploading, the patient may individually upload data from scanned paperwork or by manually transferring image data (X-Ray, MRI, CT scan) from a CD to the cloud. Finally, the patient is encouraged to provide their own observations not only to improve the precision of medical advice they receive, but also to increase the value of their data package.
Increasing the value of your data
We utilize a unique algorithm to price data in the medical records. Broadly speaking, the Data Pricing Package (“DPP”) value is the product of value of measurables (biomarkers) and response to therapy:
DPP = Value($) ~ Biomarkers * Response
Additional considerations include the amount of similar data in the database, as well as the timeliness and thoroughness of new information. A patient can then increase the value of their data repository by taking charge and ensuring that as complete, updated and comprehensive a data package as possible is recorded. Of course, we facilitate this process for patients by enabling them to permit hospitals and clinics to upload data to the patient’s EHR. This allows patients to focus on sharing their own observations and response to therapy while therapy information is largely managed by the provider, but deposited in a centralized and secure portal controlled by the patient. Of course, accessing data in the patient’s EHR always requires special permission from the patient.
While we emphasize innovative technology for precision medicine, information from the patient regarding their symptoms is also very valuable and needs to be recorded in a timely manner to understand the frequency and onset of symptoms. The ability of Sanus to provide a financial incentive for the patient to record their observations is itself a form of innovation aimed at greater engagement of patients in analyzing effects of therapeutics and helping to make better, more effective drugs. This is another example of how Sanus aligns the interests of patients and drug developers.
Passive income potential
The following table shows revenue sharing for several prototypical examples of patients. Advanced precision medicine refers both to the quantity and quality of biomarkers, including the use of tissue (bio-banking), as well as being early contributors to the Medical Data Ocean.
