“When you change to help yourself, you also help to change the world”

The US has the highest per capita costs globally for healthcare which is focused more on the providers and their tools than on the patient. Drug companies are reimbursed for therapy assigned by the doctors regardless of the effect on the patient. Even some of the best practices of precision medicine are manifest as diagnostics to identify patients suitable for a treatment. The more comprehensive question of what treatment is best suited to cure an individual patient is rarely asked. Under the current incentive structure, the pharmaceutical companies need to sell drugs to as many patients as possible to maximize profits while curing patients becomes a secondary metric. Then, add to that we have grown accustomed to limitations of what doctors we can visit based on insurance.

Our goal is to become the Champion Of The Patient (“COTP”) with the primary focus shifting from institutions to patient care while also delivering better outcomes! We start by helping the patient to organize their medical data and share the essential insights from it with other patients, doctors, and drug developers in a secure mutually beneficial way. This is accomplished by providing each patient their own patient Electronic Health Record (EHR) patient portal, FirstOpinion™. This secure cloud-based service allows patients the ability to centralize all of their medical records and connect them to the Medical Data Ocean™, a database of de-identified and reduced medical data. Not only do we remove all 18 HIPAA identifiers, we reduce raw primary data to the essence of keywords and one to two dozen numbers. In this way, the patient’s files are never exposed outside of their EHR, and only the essential insights from their medical experiences are shared.

Patient-focused care (“PFC”) changes the balance of power.

PFC enables patients to now become the focus of attention for drug makers and hospitals by delivering precision medicine, in part by answering questions like, “what medical treatment could save the life of a loved one?”

We create an actionable repository of medical insights called the Medical Data Ocean™ (MDO) as an outcome by focusing on the patient. This is similar to the intrinsic properties of water molecules determining behavior of water at different scales. The analogy is that we are interconnecting medical data lakes by catering to the patient by helping to organize their records and then helping them to connect their data to the MDO and championing their cause in other ways, including financial compensation to align the interests of medical providers.
